Did you know that everything you eat after 6pm in the evening stacks on the pounds more than 3 times as if you’d eaten the same thing before 6pm!!! What the?!

Yup, Circadian biologists have found that metabolism seriously slows down after 6pm and everything we eat thereafter loads on the fat but also creates inflammation. Remember the food hangover you felt next morning when you ate pizza and chocolate late the night before, watching a movie?

By reducing carb intake, stopping snacking and increasing good fats like uncooked olive oil, avocado oil, macadamia oil, avocados, grass fed cow’s butter, ghee, coconut oil etc, you train your body to become more ‘metabolically flexible’ as many biohackers call it. This means that you will be able to use fat OR carbs for fuel when necessary.

Gosh, I remember the time, not that long ago, when we thought it was best to have 3 square meals and 2 snacks to ‘keep our blood sugar level’. It was flawed thinking! Yes, of course, it kept our blood sugars level, but by always having sugar in our blood, we always have insulin our blood also and it is impossible to break down fat when there is insulin floating about. Why do we want to break down fat? Well, fat around our organs and around or midriffs is a big predictor of heart disease and diabetes. And who doesn’t want a slimmer waistline!?
